Mary inspires us. Guardian Angels guide us. For 175 years in the US and more than 200 years worldwide, our mission keeps growing.Today, October 2, our Marianist Family celebrates the Memorial of the Holy Guardian Angels and the anniversary of the establishment of the first novitiate for the Society of Mary. In 1817, after a retreat at St. Laurent, Bordeaux. five members of the Bordeaux Sodality approached Fr. Chaminade and expressed an interest in taking vows as vowed religious. These five were joined by others for the novitiate. Happy Foundation Day to the Society of Mary!
